The engine kits on this page are suitable for model engineers of all skill levels, but are particularly suited to the novice because they include all the required raw materials and fasteners. They are available as unmachined castings, fully-machined kits or ready-to-run engines.

The unmachined castings can be machined on small machine tools such as Sherline with the exception of the 7-inch flywheels, which must be turned on larger lathes such as a Myford, South Bend, etc. The fully-machined kits are unpainted and can be assembled using hand tools. The ready-to-run kits are assembled, painted and tested by the manufacturer. The steam plants include the engine, your choice of fully assembled and tested horizontal or vertical boiler and all the required pipework and fittings for steaming the engine.
